Mom's New Rag Rug

My mom's birthday is in a couple weeks.  I wanted to make her a nice rug that she could use in her bathroom.  When I was looking for fabric a few months ago, I found the perfect color combination for her bathroom.  She approved the fabric and I got to work!

The rug is finally finished!
My next rug project is for me!  It will be pink, orange, green, and purple....imagine that?!?!  Want a sneak peak?  Here it is!

What should I do with the leftover fabric from my mom's rug?  Round, oval, or square?

Beef Quality Assurance

A few months ago I saw an opportunity to become Beef Quality Assurance certified for free.  Boehringer Ingelheim was nice enough to pay for people to become certified.  As a crops girl, I thought I could stand to learn a little bit more about cattle.

Even though I grew up around cattle, I didn't catch the animal science bug....until I graduated from college.  After graduation, I had a four month window before getting married.  Instead of getting a job for that short time, I helped my dad on the farm.  From December to April, most of the work that goes on has to do with cattle.  Somehow it just clicked and now I am a closet cattle girl! (But don't tell anyone, I wouldn't want to ruin my agronomygirl reputation!)

So last month I signed up for the videos and tests to become BQA certified and I passed!  Now you can refer to me as agronomygirl, Beef Quality Assurance certified! ;)  Okay, maybe just Jessie.  I am excited for the extra knowledge I picked up taking this course in Cow/Calf Management!

Thanks to the ladies who posted about this on Facebook and Twitter to let me know!

If you are interested in becoming Beef Quality Assurance certified or want to learn more, you can visit http://www.bqa.org.  It is a great way to brush up on the important management decisions to raise a healthy, delicious beef product.

Crocheted Dishcloth Giveaway

I started crocheting dishcloths about a week ago.  They are the perfect project since they are done in an hour and don't take up space like a blanket.

These are the colors I have made dishcloths in...so far.

I didn't have enough yarn to finish the dishcloth edge, so I used pink.  These are my favorite dishcloths so far!

My favorite colors!
I had so much fun giving away rag rug coasters, that I thought I would share my new dishcloths!  The winner will get their choice of color!  I will post new colors on our Facebook page as I finish them.  Click like on our new pop-up (if you haven't yet) on the bottom right of the screen.  Good luck!
