Snapshot #5 - Grain for Gold

I was contacted last week to see if Special Olympics of Kansas could use some of my photos for a new project called Grain for Gold.  Of course I gave them permission and told them I would share their efforts with you all!

With a simple donation of grain, farmers can now partner with Special Olympics Kansas in a very unique way.  The program "Grain for Gold" allows Kansas producers to give any commodity and quantity of grain to Special Olympics Kansas which will then turn that grain into gold medals for their athletes.

Each year, 23,335 medals and ribbons are won by our athletes in Kansas.  While this cost is a significant portion of Special Olympics' budget, the smiles those awards create are priceless!  Please join us and help spread smiles!

Luke Schulte, Development Director stated, "Grain Into Gold is an easy way for farmers to turn their grain into medals and ribbons for Special Olympics Kansas.  Every town in Kansas has a Special Olympics athlete who calls that community their hometown.  What a great way to connect your farm to our movement of inclusion in each hometown across Kansas!"

Schulte can be reached at schultel@ksso.org or 620.408.4450   Additional information can be found at www.ksso.org/events
